Our first view of the famous Bund riverwalk
Best discovery in all of China
The Waibaidu Bridge. First metal bridge in China. Now a famous haunt for young lovers trying to get away from their parents.
The Pudong Skyline. Most of our pictures are of this skyline.
What's Robin Williams doing here?
Bund at night
East Nanjing Rd walking district
Some Emperor Palpetine looking man at the Shanghai museum
Shanghai Museum stairs
Also at the museum. These lil' swords were some of the first coin currencies in China over 1000 years ago.
Another awesome pillow from China. China = comfort!
And we found an M&M Store!!!
The Great Wall of Candy
It was stormy and cloudy the whole weekend and it made us feel like we were in Cloud City
Thank God for Fridays! (We didn't eat here)
The architecture in Shanghai is great. It's a mix of all the different countries and cultures that have occupied here.
Russian consulate! It's like we were really in Russia
Old bazaar area
One of the most famous tea houses in China is in the middle of this little pond.
Shanghai, not unlike Taipei, has a ton of themed restaurants. We did lunch in a Sherlock Cafe
Next stop was the bird and insect market. All these jars are full of gigantic crickets. Why are they so big? Because cricket fighting is one of the biggest gambling-based sports in Shanghai
Some turtles for sale too
This sign shows off what cricket fighting looks like. We were in Shanghai during the off season, it was too cold to make them actually fight.
Dinner at a Yunnan restaurant. Yunnan is one of the westernmost provinces in China.
And they specialize in eating two things: goat and bugs! I didn't take any pictures of the fried goat cheese though...
Fried Bamboo worms. These were incredible! Like lays potato chips.
The grasshoppers were burnt. Just okay. Tasted like soybeans or edamame.
The deep fried honey bees was where it was at. Buttery and mildly sweet!
I save the drumsticks for last
Free medicine...?
No medicine
I was so excited to go to a cat cafe. After sitting down they told us they were out of coffee and out of cheesecake and out of tea. Also the cats weren't there. We left!
And went to the Mr. Bean cafe instead
Last day in Shanghai was spent at the Propaganda Poster Museum. One of my favorite museum experiences of all time.
See ya later Shanghai
