Picture Post Week 3

This week we have a slightly more focused collection of "Engrish". This country is never boring because of all the weird/amazing stuff you find every day.

Excerpt from one of the "textbooks" at the schools. Look at those soulless, defeated eyes of that deformed blonde boy. I think it does matter that the duck monster broke your cup. I think it does matter.

The international kindergarten is playfully decorated all over, even on the floor. Thank goodness this spot is warded from any demons.

Another textbook excerpt. I think this is supposed to be the story of the three little pigs, but the wolf is much more polite and morally ambiguous in this version. I mean, look at this page. Who is the bad guy here?

This is another fun story with the wolf. In this one he runs out of water and asks the sheep for some. The sheep says no, and then tells him there's fresh food and water on the other side of the mountain. But a hunter lives there...

Nice example of an "English" menu at a restaurant. It's all kinds of a mess. Usually I use my dictionary on the chinese symbols and do my own translations

One of the classes at the kindergarten. I love the English names these kids get to pick for themselves

Just to show you how cheap everything is here. This meal cost exactly $20 US. We got unlimited tea, 2 bowls of soup, two plates of stir fry, and a big platter of sushi (we had eaten about half the sushi before taking the picture)

People love to really overload their bikes here.

The riverfront. You can see the leaning tower way in the distance.

More river

Nobody ever uses the panorama feature on their cameras anymore

Found a cutie

Some cool graffiti

Leaning Tower! It's called the Chongxi Tower of Zhaoqing, I think.

Time to go home

Our hotel again. Take a close look at the new billboard at the top of our hotel. It says "Welcome Puberty!"
