Picture Post Week 5

In which we see how they throw birthday parties here, and what our new digs in Foshan look like.

I've mentioned little lizards in China. Here's one we found outside our hotel room in Zhaoqing. I found one on our window (the outside) this morning in Foshan too.

This weird woman is on a date with a stuffed animal.

Giant snail we found. Nothing for comparison, but it was the biggest one I've ever seen. Half my fist at least.

The time when China seems the most overcrowded with people is when you're at Wal-Mart 5 minutes before close. It's like black friday every night

Some more engrish. "Don't put goods under the fire fighting volume curtain gate!"

If you buy sausage here, it comes with a sausagy action figure! Collect them all.

Me and my favorite kid from the second camp session, Jacket (nee Jackie)

Jackie and "Henniar"

The playland, decorated for the talent show and Laura's "Birthday"

One of the skits. These are the kindergarteners.

Some weird game they played with the parents called "Find my baby"

Laura blowing out her candles

FIND THE BABY

Some of the children from this session

The famous Kevin and Robot (I think Kevin is on the left)

Us with Cynthia and Parker

On the road to Foshan, some nice scenery on the way

This man wouldn't stop farting on this poor woman

Found a truck full of pigs!

This is the school we will be working at. It's like half a city block in size!

This is the apartment block where we live now

Buildings here are a lot taller than Zhaoqing

The first meal we've cooked for ourselves in China. Bacon, eggs, and rice!

This is the hole where the monsters come out. They only come out at night. Mostly.

And now a brief tour

Laura's bedroom

Random crumbling wall near our bathroom.

The set of Saw, aka the bathroom

Here's the shower that is also the bathroom.

My room

Our bed, with layers of comforters for cushion

The kitchen/dining area

The smallest fridge I've ever seen. Seriously I didn't think they got smaller than the one I had in royal oak

The is the dish dryer/sanitizer. They don't have dishwashers here

Living room. That couch is also really really hard.

Our brand new TV with the wrapping still on it. As of this post they still haven't gotten us a cable box so it's useless.

Our balcony area. People do their laundry outdoors here.

There's no clothes dryers in China either so people just hang their stuff up outside. This is Jason's laundry

Look at this cutie

Don't worry there's a Wal-Mart here too
