Week 11 Picture Post

There's a holy crap ton of these because I took so many pictures at the zoo... Oh well here we go!

At the visa office once again. That's our huge fruit basket over there near the plants.

At the counter is our whole crew of Chinese friends trying to keep me and Laura in the country

We found a knock of Starbucks store! They actually do have real Starbucks here, but this one is a bad imitator called "Starbacks"

Inside an H&M. This fashion will be all the rage next year, I guarantee it.

We found a farm in the middle of the city

During the National Day festivities in the park. These kids were playing a game with this spinning light up top. Each kid had a whip (like an Indiana Jones whip) and they were taking turns whipping the top. It felt... unsafe

China concert!

A bunch of weird animal bear freak things. Who the heck knows...

The most crowded subway car yet! It hurt to breath because people were pushing against my ribs! But it's okay, the car smelled so bad I wasn't breathing anyway

Here we are at the animal park!

Laura surveying an exhibit about animal nutrition

Some incubating flamingo eggs

A real life worker lady working on some blood work

A BAAAABBBYYY TIIIGGGEEERRRR

A real Laura and some real Parrots. They were eating grapes.

Monkey

Black rhino. These guys are the ones that were officially labeled "extinct in the wild" a couple years ago.

Vultures! Vultures everywhere!

Monkeys in a house

Baboons!

Loads of baboons!

Made friends with a Macaque

Mandrills

Hornbill in flight

Orangutan

We ate lunch INSIDE the orangutan exhibit. This one was swingin' around just for fun

Underneath a 12 foot long albino snake

White tigers

This guy loved swimming

Laura and her tiger friend

This guy kept coming right up to the glass! The tiger area was one of the few glassed-in areas in the park. This tiger was marking his territory. He sprayed the glass with his butt glands several times. It was cool/gross.

Lots of fun engrish in the park

THEY HAD A BABY TIGER NURSERY

A cute little cuddly little friend. Also a koala.

Me too!

Koala on the loose! (Not really he was in his area)

Asian elephants

Found the pandas!

He waved

THERE WERE NO BABBIES IN HERE

Pygmy hippo would have easily been my number 1 animal of the day if it hadn't been for all the other amazing animals we saw that day!

Everything in the clothing stores is now winter-themed. It's all heavy sweaters and winter parkas. It's still in the 90s most days here!!!

This is a bell tower near the Paddyfield Irish Pub

Have our bus tickets to Zhuhai! Just wish I could figure out what any of this says...

Some travelling shots

Arrived in Zhuhai!

People looking for crabs on the rocks

The ocean. First view of the pacific from the opposite side of it!

We could see Macau from here. Hopefully we can go back for a visit in a few weeks

There's the fish lady

Chinese tourists and the sign for the fish lady

The sun was in her eyes

We arrive at the beach

Found the obligatory "seaside town dolphin statue"

AND A PAPA JOHNS WHAT

So this billboard has been all over Foshan for the last 4 weeks or so. It's advertising the opening of a new mall (just what China needs, right?). But yesterday Laura noticed something odd about one of the models...

I don't think this girl was ready to have her picture taken
